Family Hydraenidae
Authors: David Mifsud & Manfred Jäch
This beetle family has been locally revised by Mifsud et al. (2004) and a total of 11 species were included. One species complex was later evaluated by Jäch & Delgado (2008). Most species are either rare or localized in the Maltese islands.

Superfamily Curculionoidea
Authors: David Mifsud, Enzo Colonnelli & Miloš Knižek
The most recent checklist of this group is that produced by Mifsud & Colonnelli (2010) and where all previous published information on Anthribidae, Rhynchitidae, Apionidae, Nanophyidae, Brachyceridae, Curculionidae, Erirhinidae, Raymondionymidae, Dryophthoridae and Scolytidae with relevance to the Maltese species is included. The group is locally represented by 182 species. The checklist which follows is taken from Mifsud & Colonnelli (2010). The bark beetles (Scolytidae) of the Maltese islands were previously revised by Mifsud & Knižek (2009). Photos are included for most species included in this group and original reference to the photos should be cited following information contained in Mifsud & Knižek (2009) and Mifsud & Colonnelli (2010).
